For the past couple of years, Triangle CrossFit has been partnering with the Fuquay Varina Police Department to complete the Special Olympics WOD. The WOD for inclusion helps to raise money to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. With this they are given the opportunity to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and bonding with other special olympics athletes in the community.
Annually the Fuquay Varina Police Department completes a Torch Run and works with local businesses to help raise money to support over 40,000 Special Olympics Athletes. They complete the torch run each year in May, which the public can participate in if they want to.
At our gym the Fuquay Varina Police Department helps us organize this workout by having special olympics athletes come out to talk to our members and participate in the workout with them. We love supporting our community and ensuring we do our part to help in whatever way we can. A community is one of the most amazing things you can have which is why we find it so important to be able to help and give back to them.
